My 10th release is my rendition of Nick Cave’s ‘Into My Arms’. 50% of the profits of this song's sales go to LGBT Ireland.
We were busy recording my debut album (in late 2020) and me and my pianist Scott had some spare time to record this extra song. This is one of my favourite love songs in the world. I'd like to dedicate it to my father. My hero. And I'd like to remind anyone out there there's good out there, there's hope and there's love. Even when you can't always see it.
I hope you enjoy the music video for the song too.
I don't believe in an interventionist God
But I know, darling, that you do
But if I did, I would kneel down and ask Him
Not to intervene when it came to you
Oh, not to touch a hair on your head
Leave you as you are
If he felt he had to direct you
Then direct you into my arms
Into my arms, oh Lord
Into my arms, oh Lord
Into my arms, oh Lord
Into my arms
And I don't believe in the existence of angels
But looking at you I wonder if that's true
But if I did I would summon them together
And ask them to watch over you
Both to each burn a candle for you
To make bright and clear your path
And to walk, like Christ, in grace and love
And guide you into my arms
Into my arms, oh Lord
Into my arms, oh Lord
Into my arms, oh Lord
Into my arms
But I believe in Love
And I know that you do, too
And I believe in some kind of path
That we can walk down, me and you
So keep your candles burning
Make her journey bright and pure
That she'll keep returning
Always and evermore
Into my arms, oh Lord
Into my arms, oh Lord
Into my arms, oh Lord
Into my arms
Into my arms, oh Lord
Into my arms, oh Lord
Into my arms, oh Lord
Into my arms

From Cork, Ireland, Lewis Barfoot writes mystic, majestic songs derived from regional folk, with an ambient music aura. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 11, 2023
The latest LP from Brigid Mae Power is gorgeous and ghostly, setting Power’s voice against soft brushes of guitar, piano, & shuffling drums. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 17, 2018
A wonderful album. I hear hints of Jeff Buckley, The Beatles and Rufus Wainright in his songwriting. Not just cleverly written songs, but with feeling. And the strings are stunning too. jane willow
